The Alexandria Public Library is happy to announce that in cooperation with the other libraries in Licking County, The Ohio State University Newark and COTC we will be participating in “One Book, One Community”. This is an opportunity to meet and discuss with author Dr. Mona Hanna-Atitisha about her book, “What the Eyes Don’t See: A Story of Crisis, Resistance, and Hope in an American City.” A story of how Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, alongside a team of researchers, parents, friends, and community leaders, discovered that the children of Flint, Michigan, were being exposed to lead in their tap water—and then battled her own government and a brutal backlash to expose that truth to the world.
First, the Alexandria Book Club will be reading the book in March and discussing it at our regular time and place. Second, you are invited to the book discussion and signing at the Reese Center on the Newark Campus of Ohio State on Monday, April 13th 6:00PM. Free books will be given to the first 100 registrants. Call the library at 740-924-3561 to register now! All adults are welcome to participate in monthly book discussions. For a morning of lively discussion call 740.924.3561, or email Martha at firstname.lastname@example.org or stop by the library to join Book Club. You need not be available every month to participate.
If you are new and would like to join us, please enter by the meeting room door, as the library is closed on Fridays.
