The Adult Book Club will be on the fourth Friday this month, March 22nd at the same time and place (10:30am in the library meeting room). Come discuss the county-wide book club book for this year, “A Well Behaved Woman: a novel of the Vanderbilts” by Therese Anne Fowler. Step back in time to life in Gilded Age New York City with the rich and famous of the late 1800’s. The novel traces the life of Alva Smith, a destitute Southern girl whose father lost his fortune in the Civil War. She meets and marries into unimaginable wealth, but does this bring happiness and a sense of purpose? Alva becomes a force to be reckoned with as she uses her intelligence, wealth and position to help change her world.
All adults are welcome to participate in monthly book discussions. For a morning of lively discussion call 740.924.3561, or email Martha at firstname.lastname@example.org or stop by the library to join Book Club. You need not be available every month to participate. If you are new and would like to join us, please enter by the meeting room door, as the library is closed on Fridays.
